Dr MacManus has joined DigiBrain, the exciting new project project being led by Dr Bharat Tripathi (PI) at the University of Galway. DigiBrain is funded by the European Commission Recovery and Resilience Facility under the Science Foundation Ireland National Challenge Fund Future Digital.

The aim of DigiBrain (Machine Learning for Predicting Brain Deformation in Concussions using Head Motion) is to develop a physics-informed neural network-based model to predict brain deformation using the head kinematics, or a Digital Twin of the existing mechanical model used to the predict the brain deformation, using the University College Dublin Brain Trauma Model (UCDBTM).

DigiBrain is currently seeking to engage with potential non-academic stakeholders to help inform the direction and outputs of the research to ensure it has high societal and economic impact. Please get in touch if you think you can help DigiBrain deliver its goals.

DigiBrain is also seeking to recruit two exceptional individuals with a background in Mechanical/Biomedical Engineering, Applied Mathematics or a cognate discipline for full time postdoctoral research.
